HydroMind ("HydroMind," "we," "us," or "our") operates the HydroMind iOS application and the website at www.hydromindapp.com(collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide in the app

HydroMind is designed to minimize data collection. Depending on how you use the app, you may provide:

• Hydration logs (amount, time, and beverage type you choose to record)
• Profile inputs used to personalize your daily goal (such as weight, activity level, or preferences you set in the app)
• Reminder and notification preferences

This information is stored primarily on your device. When you enable Apple Health integration, hydration data you choose to read or write is handled through Apple's HealthKit framework as described below.

1.2 Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you connect HydroMind to Apple Health, the app may read and/or write water intake data to your Health app, subject to the permissions you grant in iOS. We access only the Health data types you approve.

• Health data accessed through HealthKit is used to display your progress, sync across your Apple devices, and improve your in-app experience.
• We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, and we do not sell HealthKit data.
• You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.

Apple's handling of Health data is governed by Apple's privacy policy and your device settings.

1.3 Information collected automatically on the website

When you visit our marketing website, we and our hosting/analytics providers may automatically collect:

• Device and browser type, operating system, and language
• Pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate geographic region (derived from IP address)
• Date and time of visits

We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand site performance and aggregate traffic. These services are designed to be privacy-friendly and do not use cookies for cross-site tracking on our behalf. Vercel may process limited technical data as described in Vercel's Privacy Policy.

1.4 Communications

If you email us at support@hydromind.app, we receive your email address, message content, and any information you choose to include so we can respond.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the HydroMind app and website
• Calculate personalized hydration goals and pacing
• Send local notifications and reminders you enable on your device
• Sync data with Apple Health when you opt in
• Analyze aggregate website usage to improve content and performance
• Respond to support requests and protect against abuse or security issues
• Comply with legal obligations

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in these circumstances:

• Service providers — such as hosting (Vercel), analytics, and email — who process data on our instructions and under contractual confidentiality obligations
• Apple— when you use HealthKit, Apple Health, iCloud, or the App Store, as governed by Apple's terms and policies
• Legal requirements — if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required by law

4. Data retention

App data stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Data in Apple Health remains according to your Health app settings. Website analytics are retained in aggregated form according to our providers' retention schedules. Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and for reasonable business records.

5. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
• Port data you provided in a structured format, where applicable
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (EEA/UK users)

Because most app data stays on your device, you can delete hydration logs in the app, disconnect Apple Health, or uninstall HydroMind to remove local data. For website or support-related requests, contact support@hydromind.app. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and as required by applicable law.

California residents: We do not sell personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). California residents may request information about disclosures or exercise applicable rights by emailing us.

7. Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

8. International users

We are based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. or other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

9. Third-party links

Our website may link to third-party sites (for example, the App Store). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the app or website where appropriate. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
